Yard Smart can communicate with and receive input from a wide range of peripherals and devices, greatly extending the solution’s ability to give you real-time information and control. Yard Smart can be deployed over any wireless network that uses the TCP/IP protocol.

Data capture devices

Yard Smart is compatible with ruggedized slate products such as Xplore Technology’s iX104C3 Tablet PC and handheld devices down to ¼ VGA as well as handheld barcode readers and passive RFID readers. These devices allow your personnel to manually capture real-world data.

Automated data capture

From dock door and proximity sensors to temperature-monitoring and active RFID, Yard Smart can work with your sensor systems to capture and input data to give you the most accurate possible picture of what is going on in your yard and on your docks.

Display systems

Yard Smart supports a range of output display options. You can choose from LED panels, gate kiosks and even airport style arrivals/departures screens. All these options help make sure that your yard staff has access to critical information.

In-vehicle communications systems

Extend the might of Yard Smart right into your tractor cabs through truck-mounted terminals or in-vehicle communications systems such as Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS system and XATA’s Fleet Management System. This allows you to change routing and journey instructions on the fly even after the trailer has cleared the gate.
